Fiona Leiphe was born in Boise, Idaho in 1953. The only child of a potato farmer and a homemaker, she was orphaned in 1960 when a tornado destroyed the family farm. Fiona was sent to an orphanage where she spent the next nine years suffering unspeakable abuse at the hands of a corrupt administration staff. As a coping method, Fiona began documenting her day to day life, not realizing her calling had found her. At the first opportunity, Fiona fled the orphanage and changed her name. She found work as a waitress at a small roadside restaurant in Flagstaff, Arizona, where she learned to really listen to others for the first time, a skill that has stood her in good stead ever since. It was at the restaurant that Fiona met Pete, an over-the-road truck driver who was to become her husband. They were married in 1973 and Fiona bore Pete four beautiful children before an ugly divorce shook the foundation of Fiona's life in 1979. Little did Fiona know that the divorce, painful as it was, would be the event that most dramatically changed her life. She began offering her services as a by-now-experienced journal writer to others from her small home and was so successful simply by word of mouth that she was able to return to school and earn her PhD in 1983. In the mid 1990s Fiona was prescient enough to foresee the growth and popularity of the internet. She began offering her journaling courses entirely on the world wide web and became an instant success, attracting clients from around the world. Today, Fiona maintains Leiphe.net from her lavish estate in the Arizona desert. She is in high demand as a public speaker and has helped thousands of damaged souls repair their broken lives. |
