Boys and girls,

Welcome to the New Year's Edition of Wired Souls!

There's a lot to tell, so I'll get right to it.

As you know, we've hit a bit of a snag in our weekly webcast of "The Wired Souls Hour," much to my continuing chagrin. Seems that Net:Sight still hasn't managed to get their hineys in gear and figure out their little "legal problem," so the good Reverend Lee hasn't been able to send you the weekly words of wisdom and inspiration you've all come to know and love.

Net:Sight's been absolutely mum on the exact nature of their little "difficulty," and even the Reverend Lee hasn't been able to get any real dish on what's up--and you KNOW if there's any dirt to be had, you'll hear it from me first.

We've been looking into some alternate webcasting software but so far none of the currently available stuff has proven suitable. Call me picky, but the Reverend Lee doesn't want to make his listeners download yet *another* program.

The searchable archive of past broadcasts is still unavailable as well, but hopefully we can resolve this little issue and resume making both the archives and the regular weekly broadcasts available to all ye faithful.

On to other topics...

My around the world in eighty days trip was simply fabulous. You have NO idea. The only thing that spoiled it for me was that moment in Taiwan when I noticed the shop girl wearing white shoes. Hello?? It's months after Labor Day, missy. Didn't your mother teach you anything about style? I nearly had to go lie down after that episode.

It was delightful to meet so many of you and observe your religious practices too. I was able to spend part of Hanukkah with a Jewish family, and I got to observe Ramadan with a Muslim family. Wonderful memories, all. Attending a Buddhist service. Visiting the Vatican. Oh, that Michelangelo. I could go on and on about his little painting. I can't imagine what it would be like to be on one's back for that length of time and have only muscle cramps to show for it.

I'm excited to announce that the Wired Souls Club has just reached a milestone--our one thousandth member. One thousand of you now have my private e-mail address, and I've dispensed e-absolution to a number of you. If you haven't done so yet, please consider joining. For your non-tax-deductible gift of $1000 or more, you'll be entitled to perks like our special e-confessional, merchandise discounts, and invitations to special in-person meet-and-greet sessions with Reverend Lee and some of your fellow 'Souls. It's always a smashing time. In addition, imagine the warm, fuzzy feeling you'll carry with you everywhere, knowing you've helped fund the world's most fabulous and fashionable interfaith group. Where else but here can you mingle freely with Jews, Catholics, Muslims, Wiccans, Baptists, Buddhists, Mormons, Hindus, and all of the world's rainbow of faiths and religions in safety, with your beliefs respected, and without judgement?

Nowhere but Wired Souls. Nowhere.

I'm still trying to convince one of our esteemed members that a paid position as webmaster would be, as Martha Stewart (she's a goddess--worship her!) says, a Good Thing. He's a little reluctant since all these dot-coms have gone belly up. I'd like to relieve our poor overburdened volunteer webmaster, but I can't until we get someone else, preferably on staff so he can devote full time hours to the site.

It's either that, or the good Reverend will need to learn how to write code for the internet, and trust me, that would be ugly with a capital UG. Nobody wants that.

Well, kids, that's all I have on my plate for now.

Ta for now,

The supreme being's favorite fashion plate,

Reverend Lee
