Design is not for philosophy - it's for life.

One of the original departments, Design was created when TerraShape was founded in 1984. It is still based in the San Francisco office.

The Design department is the coordinating force behind all the other departments' work. When a contract is accepted, a Design team shapes the contract by liaising with members of each of the other departments in order to come up with an overall design for the client.

Several factors are taken into consideration when working with the client to achieve a desired effect. Most of the factors are logistical and bound by some natural constraints and financial considerations, but the Design team is fully prepared to work with and wrangle more abstract concepts in order to create a vision in keeping with the client's wishes and dreams. When the creative force at TerraShape is let loose, anything is possible. Factors may include any of the following, as well as additional inspirations given and created by the client. It's truly a collaboration, form and function, you and TerraShape.
