Departments | Demolitions

Nothing holds together, everything falls apart.

The Demolitions department was formed in March 1993 at the same time as Construction. It is based out of the Sydney office.

We use this department to remove older structures which are no longer required by the client, and also in some cases for earth-moving. The Demolitions department does not destroy; it erases. A good-natured rivalry exists between Demolitions and Construction in the inter-department soccer tournament.

The art of demolition is not an easy one to master, due to the inherent dangers involved; not for us the wild abandon of enthusiastic blasting. Removing a building or other structure - especially a long-standing one - is a slow and delicate task, performed only by engineers of the highest caliber, who painstakingly calculate the most efficient method of erasure.

The largest job for Demolitions so far has been erasing the old Neapolitan Center in Indianapolis.
